We absolutely love the Jaase Brand..

We always try to ensure that the brands we stock are ethical and that they are keeping the best interests of the environment and the people with in our communities globally in the forefront of their minds when manufacturing their products. This can often be hard to find and even harder to find brand that fit this criteria that are inspirational and on trend. I guess this is why we got so excited when we stumbled across the amazing brand Jaase.

Finally we had found an ethical brand that was is on trend, gives back and is affordable. We also loved that Jaase is a family business that was founded by a Mum and Daughter team and that they have now grown this great brand to what it is today.

We love that Jasse continues to grow and expand their give back to those in need, through the collaboration with the Rafiki Mwema. It was this collaboration the really sold us on the brand and after you read their Blog info below I think you will agree that what they are doing is really going to help make a difference to those who need help the most.

The Jaase story began with a mother and daughters appreciation for prints, fabrics and all things beautiful. The owners and creative minds behind the label are Karen and Amy McDonnell. The Jaase tribe is all about family, the girls decided to launch the brand together in 2014, to showcase their love for clothes. They create products based on their sun soaked lifestyle on the Sydney Northern Beaches. Their recognisable designs and prints continue to represent the mother, daughter love for feminine, yet sexy styles all created in unique prints, hand designed within Australia. Each print and style is designed in Australia, Karen and Amy are passionate about supporting the fashion industry. The girls strive to create free spirited and beautiful collections with a piece of them in every print and style.

The Collaberation with Rifiki Mewma  (Jaase Blog Post)

Announcing Part 1 of our collaboration with Rafiki Mwema. We have been working together on these amazing garments behind the scenes for months. We initially discovered this charity through one of their incredible advocates, Constance Hall. Once we found out the amazing work they do we felt compelled to get involved. That's where the inspiration behind our collaboration came from. What if we could make a range where all the profits were given directly to this remarkable charity? So that's what we did, with the help of the amazing team at Rafiki Mwema. A huge Thanks to Sarah, Claire and the entire Team in Kenya. We have designed something that we are extremely proud of and think you will all love. Each garment that you buy is supporting this incredible cause, making your purchase really count. Happy shopping!:)

What is Rafiki Mwema?

Rafiki Mwema means 'Loyal Friend' and that is what we will be to these young boys and girls. The impact of sexual abuse and the profound lack of care and support for young girls in Kenya who experience abuse is heart breaking, compounded by the stigma that then follows. We have had little girls as young as ten months come to us after being the victim of assault.

Providing the girls with safety, love and therapeutic parenting is critical. However, without providing the same safety, love and therapeutic parenting to boys, we would not be dealing with the problem and in turn, disrupting the cycle of violence. We have 2 houses that for the boys in which we provide therapeutic support to buys who have survived the horrors of living alone on the streets, some boys from the tiny age of 5 years old. These boys have experienced the full horror of life on the streets and for many, this has included beatings, abuse and rape by both men and women. Life has taught them not to trust and without support, would likely to continue the cycle of abuse. At Rafiki Mwema, we work with our boys to respect themselves and others. We model positive behaviours towards women and give them the values to become safe husbands and fathers. We help them to understand that they are deserving of love.

All of our children live as a family, but in separate houses. They are therapeutically parented, using the PACE model and have regular therapy as individuals and in groups. They are supported to have safe contact with their families. They are loved and provided with a safe and consistent home, with adults they can trust.

We work with families, in the communities, with schools, churches, villages and with government officials to ensure the cycle of abuse is broken and that children are given the chance to live as children should. We are totally committed to supporting the children who have experienced things we could not even imagine and that many adults chose to turn a blind eye to.
We help them to heal their trauma and grow to love, be loved and become safe and loving adults.

How much of the money will be going to Rafiki Mwema?

100% of our Net Profits will be going directly to Rafiki :)

I think you will agree after reading this Blog that Jaase is definitely one brand well worth supporting.
