Who Gives a Crap
We're determined to prove that toilet paper is about more than just wiping bums. We make all of our products with environmentally friendly materials, and we donate 50% of our profits to WaterAid to build toilets in the developing world.
The story so far....
- 120,000 people have been provided sanitation access through donations to WaterAid
- 22,758 trees saved and the forests send you their thanks for using forest friendly paper products
- 54 million litres of water saved by making products using eco-friendly materials
- 4,377 tonns of greenhouse gas emissions reduced by making products with cleaner processes
At Who Gives A Crap they think toilets are pretty funny. They started out when they learnt that 2.5 billion people (roughly 40% of the world’s population) don’t have access to a toilet. Unfortunately that’s not very funny. Poor sanitation causes diarrhoea related diseases that fill over half of sub-Saharan African hospital beds and kill 900 children under 5 every day. Luckily, toilets are proven to be a great solution—they provide dignity, health and an improved quality of life. And in case that wasn’t enough, it’s been shown that a dollar invested in sanitation yields eight dollars in increased economic prosperity. Toilets are magical!
Half of all profits are donated to WaterAid, an organisation with deep experience and skill in implementing high impact sanitation projects throughout the developing world. We’ve done the maths and worked out that for every roll of toilet paper you buy, you’re helping to provide someone with access to a toilet for one week. To date, Who Gives A Crap has provided enough funding to help give a year’s access to a toilet to almost 70,000 people. That's worth shouting about!
